Pedrera ABC Table Lamp by Gubi

Designed by Barba Corsini in 1955 to illuminate his newly renovated apartments in aLa Pedreraa in Barcelona, the Gubi lighting Pedrera ABC Table Lamp was a functional reaction to the lighting needs of these new spaces. The exterior of the building reflected the famous naturalistic style of original designer Antoni Gaudi, while the interiors by Corsini were an extension of later European Modernism, as seen by the pure geometric shape and industrial perforated metal shell. The lamp serves a functional purpose but can also be a source of ambient light to accompany table tops in modern living spaces. In 2001, Jacob and Sebastian Gubi took over their parentas furniture business, transforming Gubi in to an internationally recognized design house for lighting, furniture and accessories. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Gubi is a purveyor of timeless and emerging designs, many of which are iconic and can be found in permanent collections around the world.
