Durga, another form of the goddess Kali, rides a lion in this colorful Madhubani painting. In one hand, she holds the head of a demon while in the other she carries spiritual weapons. Devendra Kumar Jha depicts the deity in her destructive form using crushed wet rice and natural colors on handmade paper. As each painting is an individual creation, each is unique.
